Szilárd has completed his PhD in Computer Science by submitting his thesis entitled "Bengali Script Recognition for Indian Postal Automation", a straight collaboration with the Indian Statistical Institute, Calcutta (Kolkata), India.
Currently he is with Technical University of Dortmund, working on different handwriting recognition issues related to white board notes (mindmaps) and other classification and recognition issues.
Recently he has been also involved in human-computer interaction (HCI) in a smart environment with a special interest on interaction using mobile platforms (Android).
He has extensive experience as both a software engineer and manager, mostly at top-notch research institutes/companies all over the world (France, India, Japan, Hungary, Germany, Romania). He has high communications skills as he is fluent in English, French, Romanian and Hungarian.
He is currently most active with Microsoft technologies. His programming languages of choice are C++, C, C#, Matlab and Java in that order. He is quite familiar with different OSs based on Unix, Linux, Windows, etc.
He is looking forward for challenges in research fields like machine learning, classifiers, handwriting recognition, document analysis, stock market prediction, action recognition, gesture recognition, social network analysis, etc.
